When it came down to my last project, I was given a choice of two documents to read, and that document would be the basis of my final essay, which would be about a defining moment in the life of that document's writer. Before I made this decision, I was tasked with highlighting each of the documents to find their key points, and these would help guide me on my way through my final essay. While I finally chose George Orwell and his narrative "Shooting an Elephant" as my subject, here you can find the highlights of that story and "Salvation" by Langston Hughes, my other option of subject. While not in-depth at all, the highlights did help me pull out details and put together a guideline for that essay.

These are the notes and summaries that I made in preparation for the "Multitasking Essay" in my Essay Portfolio. The notes I took on the Multitasking document were in the form of a set of questions given to me by my professor, and the answers I found within the article. The notes I took on the Time Management document were in the form of a free-write, wherein I simply wrote down my thoughts and impressions of the document as I read. I find both to be very helpful to prepare for an essay, but the second is obviously the better option when you have no input from a professor.
